Jimmie Espo is the epitome of talent, professionalism, fun, and cool. I may be biased, but my April 29th wedding at the Renaissance may have been the most fun I've had at a wedding. Most memorable day!

There aren’t enough great words to express how I feel about 617 Weddings! Jimmie Espo was highly recommended by our venue, The Cliff House Maine, so we immediately contacted him online hoping he was available for our May 2020 wedding and he was. Within a day, Jimmie contacted us by phone to discuss our wedding ceremony plans and we ended up talking for an hour. We hit it off like we had known each other for ever. He was such an amazing personality, friendly and put you at ease. He contacted us a few times as the planning moved forward and met in person and that day was the beginning of what is now an incredible friendship. Then Covid hit, our wedding in Maine needed to be canceled only 2 weeks before our date, which was devastating to us, we postponed until August 2020, but we really wanted our original May date for sentimental reasons. We decided to do a small backyard wedding for just family a few friends, then Jimmie calls us and offers to be our DJ and live-stream our wedding on Facebook so everyone could see us get married. We live 2 hours away from 617 Weddings + Events, but they backed up their equipment and drove to our house without hesitation so all our family and friends could see our special day!! It was truly a heartfelt gesture, that is something you can thank someone enough for. We did go through with our postpone wedding on August 16, 2020 at the Cliff House Maine and of course 617 Wedding + Events stood by us with all the date changes and Jimmie Espo was our amazing DJ again for this incredible wedding. His infectious smile and great personality lights up a room and makes everyone want to have a great time. Like I said, there are not enough words to express my thanks and appreciation to Jimmie Espo & 617 Wedding + Events for making our weddings the most memorable days of our lives. And above all, we’ve gained an amazing friend for life!!!

BEST DJ hands down!

Danny T is the absolute BEST DJ hands down. Everybody was on the dance floor having a blast!! (My dress ripping is proof of how hard we danced!) He's easy to work with and very responsive to messages. He also checks on you multiple times throughout the day to see if you need anything. I can't say enough good things about him. He's an all around good guy and such a great DJ. He knows how to make songs flow and guests complimented on how good he was after the wedding. Everyone needs him at your event!! Thank you Danny!!!

DJ Chuck was amazing! Throughout our entire wedding process from changing dates, to venue location, and party size he supported my husband and I through the crazy Covid wedding planning! The day of our wedding Chuck was fantastic- the music was spot on, our guest were enjoying themselves, and he even managed to integrate serbian/Italian music to accommodate both our families. When you work with Chuck you feel like you’re working with a friend you have known for years- it was a great experience and I would highly recommend him!

Dimitri Soteropolus from 617 Weddings was incredible. Dimitri is super easy to talk to and professional. He made this the easiest part of planning our wedding. Whenever we had a question, we could email him and he would get back to us within a few hours (Even last minute changes). Their website is user-friendly. The wedding night was a blast thanks to DJ Dimitri. Even with our smaller numbers due to the pandemic, we did not want to leave the dance floor. If you don't want to stress about music for your wedding, I would highly recommend choosing Dimitri from 617 Weddings

DJ Jimmie Espo – CEO & Founder of The 617 Event Group – has been a successful disc jockey for over 25 years. His versatile resume spans from performing at Boston’s hottest nightclubs to becoming the accomplished, premier wedding master of ceremonies he is today.

DJ Jimmie Espo transitioned his unique DJ skills to the wedding entertainment industry in 1998, where he took his fresh approach at mixing the classics with current dance and top 40 hits to pack the dance floors at weddings just as he did in the clubs.  Jimmie launched the original Move It Music that same year. Now, Jimmie performs at over 90 weddings per year throughout New England and is constantly being recommended by the region’s top Wedding Venues. Jimmie has been featured as a wedding entertainment industry expert in prestigious magazines, wedding blogs and online channels. He has also co-authored two books titled “How to Plan the Perfect New England Wedding” and “The Ultimate Wedding Reception.”

We had DJ Jimmie Espo for DJ and lighting services for our wedding in Boston. Jimmie and team went above and beyond the entire process. This was more than just a DJ service. Jimmie was a true asset throughout the day, offering to help with whatever we needed, communicating with all other vendors and family members. He frequently checked in with us before the ceremony, through cocktail hour and dinner. If we needed a coffee, he made it happen. If something wasn’t perfect with our set up, he was on it. Then, we got to dancing, Jimmie KILLED IT! We told him we wanted a real party, everyone up, excited and dancing, and he delivered. He gave us the idea to start off with a dance set right after the first dance before dinner and it really set the tone. We gave Jimmie our overall style and taste with some songs that we like, and then let him just do his thing to keep people dancing all night. The dance floor was packed the entire reception, and all the guests were raving about how good the music was. He mixed songs on the fly perfectly, adjusted quickly to the crowd, and played a wide variety of songs that fit ours and our guests tastes. On the day of, DJ Jimmie absolutely made the party. It was seriously a party before the salads came out, I've never seen anything like it - he played Sweet Caroline and people were dancing at their chairs it was amazing. He played every request we had and played a good mixture so that all guests at all age ranges were dancing and having a great time. Guests were on the dance floor the entire night, which is exactly what we wanted… it was incredible! People to this day have reached out to me saying it was the best wedding ever and how much they loved our DJ and the music. I could not be happier in choosing 617 for our big day. We hired Jimmie from 617 weddings to DJ our wedding. From the first phone call we knew he would make our wedding everything we envisioned it would be. He was quick to respond to every email and text, no matter how big or small the questions or concern was. At our meeting before the wedding he really helped us with our wedding reception timeline and put us at a lot of ease of how everything would flow. He provided music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, all three were different spots of our venue. The reception was amazing! He had everyone dancing the entire night! From our younger guests to our older guests everyone was always on the dance floor. I had multiple people comment to me during the wedding how great the music was, and that it was the danciest wedding ever. 617 weddings use a simple portal to help add songs to playlists, must plays, and timelines of when songs should be played when. We are SO thankful we chose Jimmie Espo for our wedding at the Bedford Village Inn. I'm not from MA, but Jimmie & 617 weddings was highly recommended by everyone I spoke to, so I gave them a call. I don’t even know where to start with this I’m still trying to process everything from our wedding day.. if you want perfection and some one that will go out of there way to make sure your wedding day is perfect Chuck is your guy.. In 2018 my wife and I had 6 weddings over the summer at the last one here comes Chuck the way that he brings the guests onto the dance floor how much he gets involved is amazing. Half way through be both looked at each other and said this is our guy when we get married.. 2019 comes we get engaged on a cruise and they day we come back we have Chuck booked with out even having a venue. If we could give DJ Chuck Uglietta a million stars, we would! First of all, if you are getting married, you don't just want this guy to DJ your wedding, you NEED him! There are not enough words to describe how amazing Chuck is at his job. We had Julio for our wedding 10/20/23 and from the moment we first chatted with him we just knew he was the DJ for us! He goes above and beyond for his brides and grooms, coming early to watch our ceremony and meet our guests so he could add personal touches later in the reception. He noticed a certain Taylor swift song was quoted during our ceremony and he played it later during dinner. Our guests were dancing all night long and he was great at reading the crowd and taking requests. He would wait to make sure me and my husband were in the room to play songs we asked for and if he saw that we got held up on our way to the dance floor, he kept that song going a little longer until we could get there. He was very professional during our planning sessions and really got to know my husband and I and what type of music we wanted him to play. We wanted our first dance to be a mix between 3 songs and he sent us several versions that he worked on so it was just right for our big day! He really went the extra mile.
