Our experience with 617 Weddings was amazing from the start. When inquiring about a wedding DJ they were very quick to respond and answer all of our questions. We were paired up with DJ Joe Bermudez and it truly could not have been more perfect!!! I’m a terrible DJ and was quite anxious when hearing I had to come up with a playlist for our wedding, but Joe took that worry away and made it an incredibly easy experience. Our dance floor was full from the first song til the very last song which is exactly the vibe we wanted for our wedding!!! He even talked us through the play by play of how it would all go from walking out to first dances, cake cutting… a NYE countdown and all!!! Making us less anxious and the night more enjoyable. I would highly recommend 617 weddings and especially DJ Joe… Simply the best!

Most memorable day!

There aren’t enough great words to express how I feel about 617 Weddings! Jimmie Espo was highly recommended by our venue, The Cliff House Maine, so we immediately contacted him online hoping he was available for our May 2020 wedding and he was. Within a day, Jimmie contacted us by phone to discuss our wedding ceremony plans and we ended up talking for an hour. We hit it off like we had known each other for ever. He was such an amazing personality, friendly and put you at ease. He contacted us a few times as the planning moved forward and met in person and that day was the beginning of what is now an incredible friendship. Then Covid hit, our wedding in Maine needed to be canceled only 2 weeks before our date, which was devastating to us, we postponed until August 2020, but we really wanted our original May date for sentimental reasons. We decided to do a small backyard wedding for just family a few friends, then Jimmie calls us and offers to be our DJ and live-stream our wedding on Facebook so everyone could see us get married. We live 2 hours away from 617 Weddings + Events, but they backed up their equipment and drove to our house without hesitation so all our family and friends could see our special day!! It was truly a heartfelt gesture, that is something you can thank someone enough for. We did go through with our postpone wedding on August 16, 2020 at the Cliff House Maine and of course 617 Wedding + Events stood by us with all the date changes and Jimmie Espo was our amazing DJ again for this incredible wedding. His infectious smile and great personality lights up a room and makes everyone want to have a great time. Like I said, there are not enough words to express my thanks and appreciation to Jimmie Espo & 617 Wedding + Events for making our weddings the most memorable days of our lives. And above all, we’ve gained an amazing friend for life!!!

DJ Jimmie Espo – CEO & Founder of The 617 Event Group – has been a successful disc jockey for over 25 years. His versatile resume spans from performing at Boston’s hottest nightclubs to becoming the accomplished, premier wedding master of ceremonies he is today.

DJ Jimmie Espo transitioned his unique DJ skills to the wedding entertainment industry in 1998, where he took his fresh approach at mixing the classics with current dance and top 40 hits to pack the dance floors at weddings just as he did in the clubs.  Jimmie launched the original Move It Music that same year. Now, Jimmie performs at over 90 weddings per year throughout New England and is constantly being recommended by the region’s top Wedding Venues. Jimmie has been featured as a wedding entertainment industry expert in prestigious magazines, wedding blogs and online channels. He has also co-authored two books titled “How to Plan the Perfect New England Wedding” and “The Ultimate Wedding Reception.”

We had DJ Jimmie Espo for DJ and lighting services for our wedding in Boston. Jimmie and team went above and beyond the entire process. This was more than just a DJ service. Jimmie was a true asset throughout the day, offering to help with whatever we needed, communicating with all other vendors and family members. He frequently checked in with us before the ceremony, through cocktail hour and dinner. If we needed a coffee, he made it happen. If something wasn’t perfect with our set up, he was on it. Then, we got to dancing, Jimmie KILLED IT! We told him we wanted a real party, everyone up, excited and dancing, and he delivered. He gave us the idea to start off with a dance set right after the first dance before dinner and it really set the tone. We gave Jimmie our overall style and taste with some songs that we like, and then let him just do his thing to keep people dancing all night. The dance floor was packed the entire reception, and all the guests were raving about how good the music was. He mixed songs on the fly perfectly, adjusted quickly to the crowd, and played a wide variety of songs that fit ours and our guests tastes. On the day of, DJ Jimmie absolutely made the party. It was seriously a party before the salads came out, I've never seen anything like it - he played Sweet Caroline and people were dancing at their chairs it was amazing. He played every request we had and played a good mixture so that all guests at all age ranges were dancing and having a great time. Guests were on the dance floor the entire night, which is exactly what we wanted… it was incredible! We hired Jimmie from 617 weddings to DJ our wedding. From the first phone call we knew he would make our wedding everything we envisioned it would be. He was quick to respond to every email and text, no matter how big or small the questions or concern was. I don’t even know where to start with this I’m still trying to process everything from our wedding day.. if you want perfection and some one that will go out of there way to make sure your wedding day is perfect Chuck is your guy.. There are not enough words to describe how amazing Chuck is at his job. We had Julio for our wedding 10/20/23 and from the moment we first chatted with him we just knew he was the DJ for us! He goes above and beyond for his brides and grooms, coming early to watch our ceremony and meet our guests so he could add personal touches later in the reception. He noticed a certain Taylor swift song was quoted during our ceremony and he played it later during dinner. Our guests were dancing all night long and he was great at reading the crowd and taking requests. Without hesitation 617 weddings had a DJ by the name of DJ Paul Vincent on standby and let me tell you, this guy was absolutely amazing!! We were so worried about what was going to happen once our main DJ went down but you honestly have nothing to worry about working with 617! They have a great website and communication platform that helps you regardless of what DJ you have performing at your wedding. But don't think for a second that DJ Paul Vincent didn't bring the best energy I have ever seen at a wedding. His energy, personality and preparedness really did make a huge difference at the wedding. Could not have been better! 617 and DJ Paul Vincent were amazing for our wedding in July at Peirce Farm at Witch Hill!! He kept everyone on the dance floor from the time it opened until our reception ended and we got so many compliments on how amazing Paul was. I hired DJ Paul Vincent for my wedding back in July of 2019. DJ Paul was simply a beast in terms of professionalism, punctuality, and most of all ..... he brought the house down! Everyone had so much fun and he was on cue from the beginning to the end. His transitions from song to song were on point! His playlist was great the whole night and everyone was complimenting on how awesome he was during and after the wedding. He DJs venues and clubs in Boston as well so he’s extremely experienced and talented. If you have a chance to book him, you should absolutely do it early before someone picks him up for their event. I have hired Paul for two separate events. One for a high end work function and for our wedding. He was so easy to work with and came fully prepared. He quite literally brought the party! Holy sh*t! We cannot express how happy we were with the entire experience working with DJ Aziz Idhamou & 617 Weddings. We had our wedding at Longwood's stunning venue, The Tower in downtown Boston, and having DJ Aziz was icing on the cake. From the first meeting to the last dance, his professionalism, expertise, guidance and attention to detail was beyond perfect. The music selection was spot-on - he blended different genres, built up an energetic atmosphere and kept the dance floor alive the entire night. The 617 DJ Booths are a work of art. The setup, lighting, screen etc. are extremely elegant. The 617 team created custom art from our engagement photos that were projected onto a large screen attached to the DJ booth, which set the perfect backdrop to the dance floor. We brought a DIY photo booth for our guests, and DJ Aziz even pulled the photos from the photo booth's web gallery throughout the night and created a beautiful (and hilarious) slide show that we watched from the dance floor! Beyond the music and dancing, DJ Aziz is a true MC. He spent time getting to know us and our vision, to make it a reality. We had a hard time picking out our intro music, but he found an up-tempo remix to a song we loved, used the energy to work the crowd, and created an unforgettable introduction for us. Throughout the night, despite all of our planning, we hit a few small snags, got a little behind schedule, and had to change the order of a few parts of the reception. But Aziz was on top of everything! He adapted flawlessly, and ensured the party kept flowing smoothly without missing a beat. Aziz was super responsive leading up to the event and would proactively reach out to check if we needed anything, which we really appreciated. 617 has a portal where you fill out your forms and add in your music lists, but Aziz also recommends sharing links to spotify playlists with him so he knows the exact version of the song you want - highly recommend this! The day of the wedding, Aziz and his team was early to the venue and super easy with their set up. He was a great vendor the day of in that we didn't have to worry about him at all! He came in and did his thing and was a true professional. He kept the dance floor rocking all night long!

Coming from humble beginnings deep in the woods of Maine, Joe Bermudez wasn’t always performing alongside superstars. His work in radio was the first step in the right direction as he progressed from his first broadcast in a local barn to programming the largest syndicated radio show on the planet, ‘Open House Party’. Joe’s love for being on the air has never wavered and since then he has hosted his own shows on some of Boston’s leading stations such as 103.3 Amp Radio and Kiss 108.

 

Production has been another massive part of Joe Bermudez’s career in music. Having done remixes for the likes of Selena Gomez and Britney Spears as well as producing an array of anthems such as “Sunrise” which knocked Rihanna out of the top spot on the Billboard Dance Club Chart, you’ve probably been dancing to his tracks already. In 2018 his single “Crazy Enough” was even one of Billboard’s Top 10 Dance Club Songs of the year alongside Dua Lipa and Pink.

 

When he isn’t behind the microphone or producing in the studio, Joe Bermudez is working on what he considers to be the most important part of his career, giving back to his community. Working alongside the suicide prevention group ‘Samaritans’, Joe has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars and bring awareness to a really important issue. Our experience with 617 Weddings was amazing from the start. When inquiring about a wedding DJ they were very quick to respond and answer all of our questions. We were paired up with DJ Joe Bermudez and it truly could not have been more perfect!!! I’m a terrible DJ and was quite anxious when hearing I had to come up with a playlist for our wedding, but Joe took that worry away and made it an incredibly easy experience. Our dance floor was full from the first song til the very last song which is exactly the vibe we wanted for our wedding!!! He even talked us through the play by play of how it would all go from walking out to first dances, cake cutting… a NYE countdown and all!!! Making us less anxious and the night more enjoyable. Joe was super laid back and professional when I had a call with him and immediately made me feel comfortable. He was open to whatever we wanted and was excited to help us bring our vision to life. 617 provided a comprehensive online form for us to fill out with all the details of our ceremony and reception, and we were also able to request songs and give Joe a sense of our taste in music, which made coordinating everything very easy. On the day of, Joe was incredibly kind and easy to work with, even when we made last minute changes to the introductions. He also went above and beyond to help my aunt and uncle plan a surprise dance for me and did not breathe a word of it to me before the wedding—so impressive! The dance floor was popping all night long and I got several compliments on the music, with one guest even telling me I had the best music of any wedding they’d been to :) Joe stayed true to our unique taste while still adding in some crowd pleasers that kept people engaged and dancing. I added an uplighting package as well which was incorporated seamlessly and really helped set the mood throughout the reception. So thankful to 617 Weddings and Joe Bermudez for helping make my wedding day exactly what I wanted it to be! Highly recommend them!

I highly recommend 617 Weddings, especially DJ Joe Bermudez! We were matched up with him after an initial consultation call with 617 Weddings. DJ Bill was flexible when we had to readjust the timing of things due to a minor incident and line up for the big entrance to the reception! Loved it and had a lifetime of memories from the night!

Bilingual Wedding DJ

A local radio dj was playing a “Scratch sound” on the evening radio mix show which I never heard. I fell in love with it immediately, found out it was on Turntables. And I began “scratching” my mom’s LPs at the age of 8, breaking her needles.

On my 9th Birthday, I received two Turntables and a mixer. I was obsessed with DJing; it became my passion which I practiced every night after school. 

At 14, I was helping local DJs and DJing parties and schools. After a Club wanted me back but didn’t know my name, the promoter said bring that kid back, so the name Kyd was born. 

Just shy of my 17th birthday, I began to DJ at Chicago’s teen nightclubs and became a resident DJ. Throughout the years I was a guest DJ at various nightclubs in Chicago and was selected for the world known Pride Parade.

We will always remember September 11, 2001, and I was no different, I enlisted in the Army. During Active Duty I continued to keep up to date on the entertainment industry, even DJing when I could. I was able to expand my knowledge of music from all around the world. 

My style and selection are unique, I mix House with Merengue, Bachata or even Banda.  I can go from Rock to Bachata to Cumbia, it starts the moment I put on the headphones and go to work, letting my creativity come alive. By reading the guests, I know if its ok to do Live mashups and remixes. I try to keep everyone on the dance floor and having a good time. Because what’s a party without dancing!

I always knew I wanted a DJ because of the variety of music I could play at my wedding. I'm Peruvian and my husband is American and I wanted a mix of spanish and top fun dancing american songs to dance to. Herman and his company was the best decision I made for my wedding music selection! Not only was Herman super responsive from start to finish but we was punctual and all equipment was ready and installed. DJ KYD offers an online portal which was very helpful and easy to use. It helped me stay organized and I could include right there an then in the portal what songs I wanted, when I wanted them played, what duration or parts of the song I wanted to play etc. I even asked Herman to find a Russian song to play the day of my wedding and he was able to make this work! (my mom was very happy). The packages DJ KYD provided were also very flexible. From different payment options to different things provided, it was very helpful. We went with a package which included uplighting and disco type lights and our initials that were reflected on the dance floor! It was all such a dream. Herman also played all the songs we wanted! He mixed all the songs to make them flow together which is what I wanted and everything was so seamless and perfect. EVERYONE was dancing at our wedding!! At the point that the dance floor was not even big enough! I remember seeing my guests dancing in the carpet area of the venue and everyone afterwards told my husband and I that they haven't danced like that at a wedding in a long time. Thank you Herman for such a wonderful night! The mix of music was awesome and everyone had an amazing time :) Wow I wish I could relive my wedding day all over again! I could not thank you enough and would recommend any future couples to hire DJ KYD if you want to have an amazing event where everyone is dancing all night long!! Best decision and great service. Very reliable and 5+ stars all the way. Thank you!

We hired DJ KYD for our wedding reception and the dance floor was PACKED all night. We told him we wanted mostly 90's songs to get the party going and he came fully prepared. I was impressed by the number of phone conversations we had the week of and how thorough he was throughout the whole process. I even broke my foot 3 days before my recep and he was accomodating by asking if I wanted our songs shortened and cutting out at the perfect spot. Thank you for making our reception an absolute blast!

From the moment we met with Herman we knew DJ KYD was the perfect DJ for us! We are a young couple and wanted a DJ who would keep the party going and would be able to play the latest music of all genres. Most of my husband’s family is Spanish speaking so we also wanted someone who would be able MC in both English and Spanish. DJ KYD was professional, responsive, and kept the services flowing and the party going! The planning process with DJ KYD was so easy! We used the online site to fill out the specific music we wanted, all of the wedding details, including names of parents and bridal party, etc. and the flow for the evening. After we completed the form he sent us a document with everything and went over it with us line by line to make sure he understood everything. He accommodated all of our last minute requests and changes without hesitation. The day of he worked closely with our wedding coordinator, venue, and caterer to make sure everything was running smoothly. Most important, the music was great!! Everyone had such an amazing time! I cannot recommend DJ KYD enough!
